So many friends have been asking me to share my experiences of having had a birth at home, how it went, how I felt, what I would have done differently….voila, my home birth story for you:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I felt my first contraction on April 10th at 2am in the morning which confused me because when I was having contractions with my first daughter they came several hours after I lost the mucus plug, and I have not seen it this time. What do you do? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I tried to stay in bed and get more sleep in but it got too uncomfortable. I quietly left the bed, and decided to take a bath which I thought would surely relax me since other mothers gave me that advice and it worked well for them. Well…it didn’t work for me. The contractions got stronger. By that time I thought, I gotta get out of that freakin bath tub, wake up my husband Billy without waking up my daughter and telling him to prepare the birth pool. I woke up Billy at 4 am, told him I had contractions. He got out of bed to slowly prepare the pool. We both thought we still had enough time to prepare everything. By that time we also told my midwife that I were having contractions but still pretty irregularly. I started going on all four and move my hips. That changed within a couple of minutes. The contractions came in like a constant swell of waves rushing through me. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
